7 things to consider before purchasing the best budget refrigerators
How much do you want to spend on a refrigerator? If the answer is "as little as possible" then this blog post is for you. I'm going to share with you 7 things that are important to consider before spending your hard-earned money on an appliance that will be in your kitchen for years. I'll also provide some tips and tricks so you know what questions to ask when shopping around.
1. Do you want a side-by-side or top-bottom refrigerator?
This is probably the most important question to answer before shopping because it will help determine if you need to purchase a counter-depth refrigerator or stick with your standard-size kitchen appliances.
A top-bottom fridge will have its freezer on the bottom and it typically has fewer cubic feet of storage space than a side-by-side model would, which is why I think they're better for small kitchens. However, there are some great smaller counter-depth models that are perfect for smaller spaces.
2. Do you want an ice maker?
This is also a very important question to ask yourself because it can affect your refrigerator size requirements. If you're looking at top-bottom refrigerators then no, there won't be an ice maker built into the freezer (but if you buy one with this feature it will be in the door).
If you want ice, but don't need a side-by-side model then there are plenty of bottom freezer fridges that have an icemaker.
3. Do you want a filtered water dispenser?
This is another question worth asking because not all refrigerators come with this feature and having one can really come in handy. My refrigerator doesn't have a filtered water dispenser and I really miss it, so if you're on the fence about this one then go for it!
4. Do you want a digital temperature display?
This is another feature that not all refrigerators have and it can be really helpful to know what the internal temperature of your fridge is.
5. Do you want a built-in water filter?
If you answered yes to the question above then you'll definitely want to consider this feature. Not all refrigerators come with a water filter, but they're not too difficult to find and they're worth having.
6. How much space do you have in your refrigerator?
This is an important question to answer before you start shopping because it will help determine the size of refrigerator you should be looking for.
If you have a large family then you'll need a larger model, but if you're single or live with one other person then a smaller fridge might work better for your needs.

7. What is power usage?
This is another important feature to consider because more energy-efficient models will cost less on your monthly electric bill.
You can find this information on the yellow EnergyGuide label which is required by law to be displayed in every appliance store where refrigerators are sold, so you'll have no problem finding out how much it costs to run a new fridge each month.
We compiled a list of the best budget refrigerators. If you need to save money but still want good quality, these are some great options.
These refrigerators will keep your food fresh and delicious while also saving space in your kitchen! What is the most important thing when it comes to choosing a refrigerator? Whether you’re looking for something stylish or functional, there should be an option on this list that suits your needs perfectly.
